Case Studies /

Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany

  • 75 delegates for 2 nights
  • Good flight access with several flights per day so that the company did not all have to take the same flight
  • Skiing for all abilities
  • A nice environment for the non- skiers to enjoy with some activities to take part in
  • A good nightclub to go to with reserved area after their gala dinner
  • Good value for money

The Solution

Garmisch-Partenkirchen proved to be a good solution due to its very short transfer from Munich which also has decent flight access. The Obermuhle is an excellent 4* hotel which worked perfectly for this group as it is located within walking distance of the centre of town with access to good restaurants and a nightclub. Non-skiers could enjoy the use of all the hotels facilities, walk around the delightful town and also take part in group lunches up the mountain plus enjoy some non-ski activities.

Highlights & Challenges

  • Sourcing accommodation in a popular resort for a 2 night stay
  • Equip group with ski equipment in a very short time period on arrival night so they can get out to the slopes first thing on day one.
  • Transferring guest from the hotel to the slopes in private coaches
  • Ensuring that guests were put in the correct ski groups subject to their ability
  • Offering non-ski activities such as snow shoeing and tobogganing and spa treatments
  • Last minute changes to the main group curling activity as the outside rink was not deemed usable due to adverse weather conditions and the back-up option of the inside ice-rink could not be used because there was a local competition taking place.

Feedback

‘Thank you for organising us such a fabulous trip and making everything run smoothly. Both you and Rupert were lovely to work with and we look forward to working with you in the future. We have had nothing but good feedback from everyone so it seemed to be a very successful weekend.’
